Hi, Stargazer!
Welcome to our little corner of the universe.
I’m Savannah—a single mom of two wildly curious middle school boys, Jackson and Jameson—and together, we’re chasing the stars. Not metaphorically. Literally.
Our adventures began with a simple idea: trade “stuff” for stargazing. Since then, we’ve crossed borders and time zones to stand in the path of totality—those rare, magical moments when the moon perfectly blocks the sun and everything feels impossibly still. From Niagara Falls in 2024 to Iceland in 2026 and Hobbiton by 2028, our bucket list is written in celestial ink.
This site isn’t a guidebook. It’s a journal. A scrapbook. A love letter to the cosmos and the chaos of making travel happen with kids, jobs, budgets, and big dreams. You’ll find our stories here—the near-misses, the perfect timing, the unexpected detours, and the quiet moments that take your breath away.
We’re not experts—we’re just determined. And if our journey inspires you to look up, plan your own path, or simply daydream about where the next eclipse might take you, then The Savvy Stargazer is doing exactly what it was meant to do.
Thanks for tagging along. The countdown to the next shadow has already begun.

At The Savvy Stargazer, we believe that life is a journey—one best navigated with curiosity, preparation, and a touch of wonder. The name reflects two core ideas:
Savvy represents our love for planning, problem-solving, and uncovering the best ways to explore the world—whether through travel, knowledge, or everyday adventures. It’s about being well-prepared and resourceful, ensuring every experience is intentional and fulfilling.
Stargazer speaks to the dreamers, the adventurers, and those who are always looking ahead. It’s about seeking inspiration, embracing the unknown, and finding direction—just as travelers once used the stars to navigate their way.
On a more personal note, this name spoke to me on so many levels because my family’s travels have always been guided by the stars—quite literally. We’re the kind of people who set alarms for 2 a.m. lunar eclipses, who drive 7+ hours just to stand in the path of totality for a few breathtaking minutes, and who are already counting down to our next big adventure: Iceland for the 2026 solar eclipse. For us, the sky isn’t just something to admire—it’s a reason to explore, a reminder to look up, and a map to our greatest adventures.
